Alex Rheault
Graduated: August 2004

Alex Rheault studied in DC, New England and Rome, Italy before
completing her BFA in Illustration at Parsons School of Design in 1985. She left
New York City 1998. Rheault and her husband Michael moved to Portland
Maine. Rheault completed the Salt Institute for Documentary Studies
(photography) before attending Vermont College in 2002 and she earned her MFA in August 2004. Rheault currently teaches drawing at the Maine College of Art, volunteers in her community, and shows a variety of work and media regionally.

Rheault's work: Rheault works with drawing, writing, collecting, stacking, and arranging, painting, and three dimensional work. Her content confronts strategies of authority and boundaries through visual and verbal language. Her recent works address excess, consumption, expectation, and gaps between extremes.
