Hi Artists Friends, (posted 8/07)

As you may know, I have begun as Gallery Director and Instructor at Tennessee State University’s Department of Art (Nashville, TN). Gallery Administration has been a passion of mine for some time—directing gallery programming, curating exhibitions, organizing national shows or interfacing with fellow artists. I am delighted to be a part of such a talented and open group of artists, educators and administrators. In my short time here I have felt so supported- and would love for that generosity of spirit to be the force that makes TSU’s Gallery programming an asset to artistic community.

I am honored to be a representative of our new media gallery and installation spaces, which are sure to attract inventive artists (like you) from across the country. Project plans include a robust lectures series, partnerships with area Colleges and Universities, and with artist-run cooperatives.

This fall I will issue a more formal call for exhibition proposals. I encourage you (whether working individually or in collectives/collaborative groups) to apply. Do not hesitate to call me anytime should you have questions or ideas.

Sincerely,
Jodi Hays

Hello! (posted 7/07)

RejectEffect (A.K.A. Timothy Gaewsky and Maria R. Prainito) is celebrating its one year ANNIVERSARY! What a year it has been since we graduated from Vermont College. From beginnings, staging social interceptions to learning how to paint collaboratively, it has been an exciting time! We greatly appreciate your interest and support over this past year, and look forward to producing even more exciting work in the future! Have you been to our website recently? If not, we just completed a series of photographs for an online arts magazine called Area-Zinc. See our latest creations at: www.rejecteffect.com.

Would you like to participate in our new interactive project?

REJECTEFFECT invites you to participate in our upcoming interactive project titled "PLAY". We are asking you to donate a toy of your choice which will be exhibited in a space to be played with. We will accept any type of toy(s), especially ones you enjoyed playing with as a young child or toys that have some form of motion/movement and/or sound. The name of each person who donates a toy will be listed at the opening of the project and after the exhibition the toys will be donated to a women's and children's shelter located in Mt. Clemens, MI. Another way to participate is to visit the exhibition and enjoy how it feels to play, once we've established the date and time.

We are currently accepting toy donations.
Please send donations to
