This
cyberspace harbors on-going dialogue, thoughts, and information
put forth by associates of the Vermont College of Union Institute
and University MFA in Visual Art program. Alumni, current students,
students taking semester breaks, and interested others may participate.
Some students find it difficult to access the kind of community
and dialogue we enjoy(ed) during residencies. Some want to brainstorm,
let off steam, pass on news, and post opportunities. We seek to
converse from a distance and shrink the geographical gaps by lending
encouragement and support.
Our web community grows from a flow of contributions,
exchange, and enthusiasm we share with one another. A wealth of
information is available and updated regularly on this site --
artist bios and images, bibliographies, papers, reviews, picks
and pans, and more. Contributions from everyone are welcome and
strongly encouraged.
This space fosters experimentation and promotes challenges
to our practices and ideas, all in the spirit of open-mindedness
encouraged and experienced at Vermont College. Bringing forth
the best of ourselves will encourage others to do the same, and
that generosity will breed understanding, further the dialogue,
and keep a sense of community present when we most need to find
it.
