The paintings are nearly an exact reproduction
of images I saw in a dream about my fiancé's mother, Nan. She
died a little over a year ago of Alzheimer's. Nan is the striped
square. The slate blue bars represent the blocked flow of messages
in her brain. The red is her blood. The silver white bar is
her beautiful gray-white hair. She is becoming one with the
universe. Nan was quite the wit. I miss her dry humor tremendously.
She is one of the few people I've met who accepted me immediately
at our first meeting and told me I made her son happier than
he's ever been in his life.
